A Fungi I met!

I have hunted high and low and cannot find out what this is... is it a mushroom, toadstool or plain old fungi? So no hot links from this shot.

As you can see from the scale of the individual blades of grass, this tiny wee guy was growing very low down in the machair at Sollas beach on North Uist.

Canon EOS 30D, 28-300mm @ 183mm, f/5.6, 1/500 sec, ISO 400, Macro

I asked a similar question about my fungi pictures, but it seems there are relatively few experts in the photoblogging community! I believe that fungi is the generic term that includes all forms of mushroom etc and a toadstool is a particular type (the red one with the white spots, I'm told). In short though, I don't know what this wee little chap is called either. Sorry.

It's a fungi. I think it is either from the mycena genus or the coprinus genus.
