The weather today (Sunday) was pretty dull but this splash of autumn colour on the path around Birnie Loch, near Collessie in NE Fife brought some brightness to what had been a not so sunny day.

For those who love the autumn, the BBC's Autumn Watch programmes have been compelling viewing. They continue this week on BBC2 at 8pm.

The title today is taken from the original Beatles hit, more recently covered by Will Young & Gareth Gates on Will's album 'From Now On'.

The wild and windy night
