When my car brokedown on Thursday afternoon I was reminded just how mortal even the best of things can be. Nothing is forever... unless that is you were parts of this vehicle abandoned on the machair on South Uist! It is one of the oddities of the islands that despite their natural beauty, mankind abandons cars, lorries, tractors etc., often where they brokedown.

Thanks to those awfully nice people at the RAC and Western Saab, Edinburgh for their help in returning my car to full health. Fortunately there will not be a rusting hulk left abandoned on Groathill Avenue!
