*** UPDATE - Kynd Kyttocks Kitchen closed its doors for the last time in 2014 ***

So many Sunday afternoons were punctuated by a welcome visit to KKK, either before or after a walk. It was a regular hideout for non-church-goers of a Sunday morning,
or even after Kirk for those who heeded their calling.

Kind Kyttocks was a local institution for many and is sorely missed. I have known one gentleman to travel over 500 miles just to savour their fabulous homebaking.

From its early days run by the Lewis family though the many years
run by the Dalrymple family - Thank you to you all.

Today the weather was overcast, dull, damp and a raw 39 degrees fahrenheit. It was so dull, I left my camera at home. So with no pictures to take, I popped into Kind Kyttock's Kitchen in Falkland, Fife and had to resort to using my phone for this 'snap'!

Kind Kyttock's is a traditional tearoom which I have been visiting since I was a boy. They serve home-made soups like the scotch-broth pictured; home-baked rye bread; traditional cloutie dumpling; and their signature home-baked pancakes and scones with home-made jam. I hear they are worth travelling the length of Britain for.

Tea is served by the pot, loose, that is, not in a bag. Tea-strainers are provided for that essential, authentic tearoom feel.

Finally for those cold, damp, winter afternoons, a warm and welcoming open-hearth fire is usually blazing to warm you externally, to compliment the warming effects of the soup!
