The Northern Marsh-orchid, Dactylorhiza purpurella... I found it this morning in the middle of my unmown lawn. I dug it up ( the orchid, not the lawn) and placed it in the border and hope that it will survive... at least it will have more chance than arguing with the lawnmower!! :)

Scale: The flower heads total 3cm in height and the single flower in this picture (top, middle) is only 1/2cm from top to bottom... Amazing!
