What a spectacular sight the full moon made this evening as it traversed low in the southern sky. Following the thunderstorms this evening the atmosphere was laden with moisture and the clouds were hanging heavy in the night sky. The moon was travelling west behind the almost static clouds. As the moon, at 238,000 miles from the Earth, is 1.3 lightseconds away, all the light captured in this shot left the surface of the moon 0.3 secs before I pressed the shutter!
