Below is a short list of examples of systems Graeme Whyte has produced*. From Systems Analysis, through design, testing, implementation and training, Graeme has ensured that these systems met and surpassed the customers' expectations.

 

Personnel System

Billiton International Services:

This global mining company opened its worldwide head-office in London. A number of systems have been developed including the Personnel System which stores comprehensive information on all members of staff and includes multi-currency support and integrates with succession planning modelling systems. The system was used by staff in London, The Hague and Jo'burg.

Accounts/Rivers/Salmon Tagging/Resolution Management: NASCO: (North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization)

This Inter-Governmental Organisation (IGO), based in Edinburgh, works with parties all around the North Atlantic to ensure salmon stocks are conserved. A number of systems have been developed for NASCO from internal accounts management to the storing and production of complex resolutions returns from the member parties.

Recruitment: Crossmatch Recruitment: An existing database was built on and expanded into a fully working, office-wide system to help in the day-to-day running of a busy recruitment agency in Edinburgh.
Contact Database : EFGH: EFGH's Managing Director, Peter de Vink, takes great pride in his personal contact database. This is of the utmost importance and value to him. A flexible yet comprehensive database system tailored to his exact needs was provided.
Project Administration: GEDC: (Greater Easterhouse Development Company) A legacy database system written in DataEase was migrated to Microsoft Access with Microsoft SQL data tables powering the back end of this system which was core to the entire GEDC operation.
Charitable Register : The Royal Society for the Relief of Indigent Gentlewomen of Scotland: (IGF) The IGF formed in 1847, whose current Patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, have a database for their Annuitants which handles the special Grant requirements of the Society and automates the cheque, BACS output and letter production and produces all the stats regularly required.
Invoicing System: Historic Scotland: This invoicing system took data captured in the tills at Edinburgh Castle and data from other sites and collated them. The data was then processed into invoices and statements for the tour companies that bring such welcome business to our Scottish Heritage sites.
Job Costing/Timesheet: James Barr: With a move to new offices, James Barr required an integrated job costing and timesheet system to streamline many of their business systems and to integrate different departments in a way they had never been before.
Publishing Systems: Peebles Media Group: Peebles Media Group publish a number of Trade Business 2 Business magazines such as Scottish Grocer and Scottish Licenced Trade News (SLTN). They needed a bespoke solution for both their sales systems and integration with a comprehensive Circulation database. These systems have expanded over the years to encompass the ever growing Exhibition and Award Dinner programme which Peebles Media group organises. A system which handles Exhibition Mailings, pre-registrations and Badge production was also developed.
Membership & Export Survey: SCDI: (Scottish Council Development and Industry) Over the years Graeme has produced a membership system for SCDI and also an Export Survey database which records export survey database and produces the required statistics.
Administration Systems: Scottish Courts Administration: A number of key systems were produced to help with the administration systems at Scottish Courts.
Quality Meat Schemes: Scottish Food Quality Certification: Quality Meat Schemes such as Scottish Quality Pork and Scottish Quality Beef & Lamb have played an important part in promoting the consumption of their products, but also the the wellbeing of the stock during rearing. These schemes need to store and process comprehensive information on their members. Systems were produced for the various schemes under the Scottish Food Quality Certification umbrella.
Membership Systems: Scottish Prison Officers' Association: A nationwide membership database of Prison Officers in the Association handling ballots and BACS integration.
Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association: The SSTA system has developed over many years from DOS based systems to up-to-date Windows based solutions. This important part of the SSTA administration handles all the usual membership functions including ballot handling and BACS integration.
  The Trades House of Glasgow: A historical organisation of Crafts in Glasgow needed a comprehensive membership system covering multiple centuries and generations of members.
Goods Returns Systems: Vango/Phoenix/AMG: In a successful modern manufacturing process of clothing there are unfortunately going to be a small percentage of returns. The database written for Vango/Phoenix was developed to ensure the returned products were processed with maximum efficiency.
Stock Control System: WR Allan : Importing and trading in timber is an important task and the complexities of timber stock cannot be handled by standard stock control systems. The database produced for WR Allan handles Contract production and handling of stock orders and deliveries.
