Hamish Walks for Maggie's Update
Our major fund-raising activity in 2004 was a sponsored walk by Hamish Haggis (!) for the Maggies's Centre in Fife from Saturday 24th April to Saturday 1st May 2004. If you require any information on the sponsored walk, please contact the walk organiser, Graeme Whyte on 07768 911679.

A cheque for £10,000+ has been presented to the Maggie’s Centre in Kirkcaldy.  With some monies still trickling in, the final total, including Gift Aid is expected to be in excess of £10200.

Speaking on Saturday (29th May 2004), organiser, President Graeme Whyte, said he was delighted with all the help and support the Club had received from individuals and organisations such as Fife Constabulary, Fife Fire & Rescue Service, Trinity Church – Cowdenbeath, Fife Council Member Services and the Fife Coast & Countryside Trust as well as Rotarians and many members of the public. Friends and contacts of the solicitors ‘Young & Partners’ raised over £4500 of the total. The Maggie’s Centre is such an important project and we are delighted to have been able to help in this way.

Certificates were handed out to all who walked during the week, thanking them for their support.  This fund-raising total brings the total raised by the Club mascot bear, Hamish Haggis, for various charities, to in excess of $350,000.
